Traffic laws are put in place for safety of all road users. The traffic laws are often called Road Safety Laws. They are laws enacted by the legislative arm of a nation to protect the citizenry, law enforcers, and are put in place to ensure orderliness on the roads. That is, the road safety laws apply not just to drivers, motorcyclists as generally assumed, but apply also to pedestrians, law enforcers and commuters.
The traffic laws are designed to ensure that defaulters or violators of any of its stipulations face the consequences of their actions in line with the punishments stipulated for their offences. It is trite to note that the punishments are meant to reform the law flouters, help them turn a new leaf by abiding to all the traffic laws and become better citizens.
